“…children are a gift from the Lord, they are a reward from Him…how joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them…”psalm 127:3&5
In my little journey with God, I’ve realized that He’s not one to back down on His word. Isaiah 40:8 clearly explains it. I love Jeremiah 1:12(amplified version) so much! It says “…for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it” That said God has made promises concerning our children and He’s willing to keep them. As covenant children, we’re entitled to them, us and our children.
Below is a list of promises God has made in the Bible for our children. These promises won’t work for you or your children if you don’t use them because God is a God of principles and you must follow that principle.
You need to use these words to pray for your children. Confess it over them as many times as you can remember. Write it on colorful strips of paper and stick to their dressing mirror or back of doors, have them memorize it and join you in saying it often. They’ll love it but you’ll love it more when you see it manifest in their lives. Now don’t expect it to work like magic. You have to keep up with it even when it looks as if it’s not working. The important thing is that it must be mixed with faith. That is, you can’t stop saying and believing because if He said it, then He’ll do it.
# Blessings: Proverbs 20:7 “the righteous man walks in his integrity; blessed (happy; fortunate; enviable) are his children after him. For your children to enjoy this one, you have to be an upright man. I.e. your relationship with the only righteous one makes you righteous and entitles your children to this promise.
# Salvation; 1 Corinthians 7:14; your children are saved. You can be sure of that if you are saved.
# Secure future; Jeremiah 29:11 God has a plan for them and it doesn’t include destruction or death.
# Protection; psalm 91:11-12; He will give His angels charge over your children to protect them wherever they go.
# Peace; Isaiah 54:13 I love this one most. It reassures me that I’m not alone in training my children. He’s interested in them and He will teach them by Himself, so they’ll have peace.
# Deliverance & Safety; God has promised to deliver our children and bring them to safety.
